Iknow this question is better suited for year 2009 but my old Sapphire x1950 PRO while playing Assassins Creed(the original one) heats to above 90 degrees, that is 90° Celsius. Is that bad, I had it since 2008 and it still works. I even played some modern games like Borderland, Tomb Raider, Starcraft 2, Arkham Asylum without too without much problem though there were some crashes.
Temperature was measured in Catalyst Control Center.

Since I got Sapphire 290X Tri-X and Vapor is pretty much close to that - I can safely say that it will be very cool. It gets up to about 75c for me while gaming, so I guess 290 Vapor which has a better cooler and a slightly weaker GPU will sit at 70c, which is great.

This is just reference for the future because next month I'm finally getting myself a new PC so I'm gonna bother with it MSI Afterburner might come in handy later. What did you say you can do in MSI Afterburner? I thought fan speeds can only be adjusted in BIOS? How do you get to BIOS anyway? And how hot does the new Sapphire R9 290 Vapor-x Tri-x OC get and what should I look out for?
