New to water cooling

I know for a fact that a custom water cooling system is better than any air cooling system. But knowing that fact, I still haven't introduced myself to doing my own custom water loop. Can you guys recommend me to a website where I can shop for any radiators or tubes or fittings or all that fancy stuff? OR if there are any cheap, but good all in one products that you guys recommend?

Solution

Superior cooling over any closed loop - *depending on what you buy will determine that.

It is recommended using a reservoir when using a custom cooling system, this removes air bubbles when using this kind of system, with closed loop tend to have most bubbles removed but when you want to clean the tubes you tend to get lots of air in the tubes, and cooling performance is substantially decreased depending on the amount of air in them.

"Cools all of your components" - depends on what your loop is configured to, if it is just for cooling the CPU, it will just benefit the CPU, not "all of your components".

Leaks can be...

Huh? prebuilt? what? lots of people use closed loops... like the h100i

You can get the nzxt g10 cooler, it's like a waterblock, but you can attach the h100i to cool your gpu

that is pre-built, and the H100i doesn't perform much better then extreme air coolers, which is why many people don't bother, custom liquid cooling is the only "real" beneficial form of liquid cooling out there that is considered the most worthwhile.

But I do liquid cooling just for my cpu :) And I consider custom cooling to be not worthwhile for my needs, and you say 'dosen't perform much better' , so it does perform better?

depending on your system setup, the difference is not even worth considering. The price difference between pre-built liquid and extreme air cooling is huge, and for what performance extreme air coolers give it is far better value and for a next to no difference in temperatures.

NH-D15/14 vs others (H100i also) -you see what I mean from this.

But some people would prefer liquid cooling, just for the sake of it, also, at the top 3 of the chart, they are all liquid coolers, now 4 degrees may be a big difference between playable or not

the difference sake of 1-3 degrees for the top liquid coolers is not even worth arguing about, don't know what your going on about playable, as 3 degrees isn't going to affect anything under any stress for any CPU.

just for the sake of the argument of that pre-builts are not worth it and not as good as people think they are.

- I understand and agree that some people prefer liquid cooling, people may not have the headroom or clearance issues with those coolers.

As well as that, some people have enough money to spend on these things just because they want their system to be as cool as possible

ah but you see pre-built is not as cool as possible, custom is. If they have the money they will go custom.

But people might not be able to set up a custom, the appeal of closed loop is that they never leak ( Well, that's what they say) and no maintenance is required, custom loop is a lot harder and for people new to liquid cooling, they wouldn't do it

first off pre-builts can and sometimes do leak.

over time in pre-builts, it is best to replace the coolant in them as the water becomes of very poor quality and pipes can get buildups, that's why cleaning and 'flushing' out the system from time to time is seen as essential.

lastly, depends on the user. You did say 'as cool as possible', and i followed with that, now you change to experience, who knows what it will be next.

I said 'don't leak' in apostrophes, cause I know they sometimes do, but some coolers don't need maintenance for 3 years or so, which is why it's so appealing, and yes, but everyone has to be a amateur at first, so they will have used a close loop first

i know, just finishing the confusion. It is recommended to flush closed loop/pre-builts every year, just to clear out any start of buildup.

*recommended, not necessary :p

That is not the question the op asked, or what I asked :') But a noob, like me, I would leave the cooler for 2-3 years , just because I don't want it to leak or cause damage to the cooler itself
