I want to seperate my headphones and speakers but they show as 1 device. I want to use the headphones for skype calls and the speakers for game audio.

Yes something like that may work or just classic usb headset.
Your current problem is that for PC/OS there is no difference between speakers and headphones when you use classic 3,5mm jack.
Anyway is it wise to use speakers for game audio? Because if you will be on skype call while playing your microphone will pick up also sounds from game from your speakers which may be distruptive.
