I currently have an i3 4130 in my system. I have an Asus h87 mobo that supports overclocking on the bios update on k series processors. What would get better result while gaming an i3 4130 or pentium g2385 OC'ed at 4.5ghz. I have a gtx 750.

I3 4130 vs pentium g3285 at 4.5ghz???

(I have $100 more or less of spare b-day money.)

well with the gpu you have you wont see alot of differance.if you had a gtx 770 and above they you might see an increase in fps.with the gpu that you have i whould recomend not upgrading your cpu yet.if you where to build a new pc and you where to chose from thee 2 processors than yes the pentium might be the way to go.if you overclock it you can get beastly prefomance.

I would stay with the i3 4130 since it has hyperthreading (4 threads vs 2 threads) and 3.5GHz is plenty fast for most applications. Are you not happy with the performance? The GTX 750 is decent, but not a powerhouse graphics card. I would upgrade that before the processor.

If you were starting from scratch and wanted to experiment with the Pentium g3285 then it would be a fun project, but then you'll also need to buy a new cpu cooler since you should not overclock on the stock cooler.
