Hello!

I have an issue with 2 networks. I have connected Router1 (this one also has an internet connection that i want to share with the other network) to Router2 trough an ethernet cable, plugged it in the main router in a LAN port and on the second router in the WAN port. I've managed to set up the connection and stuff, i can access internet from Router2 and i can access any device connected on Router1 but i can't access anything connected to Router2 when i am connected to Router1... And i don't know how to solve this, can't find a solution.

First router's IP is 192.168.0.1 with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask while the second one's IP is 192.168.1.1 also set up with 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. I've set up on the first router the same DNS as in the first one and the gateway is the Router1's IP... Hope what i've managed to do by now is fine.

So... What can i do to access devices on Router2 when i am connected to Router1? Is anything wrong with firewalls? (that's what i think it is)

That is exactly how it should work otherwise anyone from internet could connect to your devices. Router2 protect internal network from external network (internet or in your case router 1 network).

If you want two separated networks you will need to add some kind of forwarding between those networks to access certain services on network 2. If you want full access like if it was same network this is not really setup you should use.

Do you have need for 2 separate networks? If its just to get more connections you can connect router 2 through lan port and not wan and disable it's dhcp and it will work only as access point as was mentioned in one of previous posts. Ofc this way you lose one LAN port on router 2.

This will work fine however you will need to set up a few extra things first.

Router 2 needs an IP address on Router 1's LAN, might I suggest 192.168.0.2

PC's and other servers on Router1's LAN will also need a static route added to their OS's.

namely 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 via gateway 192.168.0.2

It doesn't work for the same reason you can access you local machines from the internet. From router 2 perspective everything in the router 1 lan is internet. You would have to use port forwarding to work. It is a NAT issue and can't really be fixed.

Unless you have a need 2 networks you are better off running the second router as a AP. Plug the routers lan-lan, turn off the DHCP on router 2, assign the 192.168.0.2 address to the lan on router 2 rather than the wan
