So i'm starting to get micro-stutters now and then. It has been up for 5 days now and it doesn't seem to be getting worse. I have vmware running windows 7 also for the same time and need it on for a bit longer. Could it just be vmware? I notice these stutters in-game and when listening to music.

Solution
You have something going on that is likely taking up a brief period of disk I/O and/or CPU time. My guess would be some type of backup or snap-shotting on your VMs (virtual machines). Test it by turning off your VMs & stopping ESX (or whatever you're using).

Also, during those "stutters", look at your your disk activity light. If it's solid, then you know something is hitting the hard drive. Find that, and you can then decide where to proceed.

I found out why it stutters. The vmware file that it uses for the virtual disk was using too much bandwidth and also i noticed that utorrent was also using a lot also. I just moved the virtual machine onto another harddisk with utorrent still running (seeding) and yeah, everything was good.
