The title says it all . Is this power supply powerful enough for a r9 290 : http://www.lc-power.de/index.php?id=197 ? On the site it says that it has 52 amps . Is that enough ?
The rest of the system is :
CPU : 4790k
Motherboard : Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z97
One HHD and 3 fans

( I don't own the CPU and the motherboard or the GPU just making sure that the PSU us good )

Thanks :)

550w should just about do but you'd be safer with a 650w - it's always best to leave some overhead.

More concerning is the brand, LC power supplies are not considered to be much good, and it's worth remembering that if a PSU fails it can blow the graphics card too.

Seasonic, Antec or Corsair are the brands to go for.

Don't let people and their large power supplies make you feel insecure about your power supply. You can find the approximate usage of computer comonents through the manufacturer's website(preferably) or here: http://www.buildcomputers.net/power-consumption-of-pc-c... . You should always have a good idea of what your system will draw under max load. Then, like previously mentioned, give yourself a little overhead. I've never used LC before, but I wouldn't want to run an off-brand "anything" at its max rated output. This will likely lower the lifespan of your power supply and possibly put your other components in danger. Also, having some headroom will at allow you to change or add components that may boost to your power draw.

I'm using an OCZ 600W with my i5 2500k (oc) + r9 290 btw.

A Radeon R9-290 NEEDS at least 31 amps on the 12v rail and a 550 watt power supply and 1 - 6+2 PCIE power connection , and one 6 Pin PCIE connection

Thanks everyone for helping me :)  Based on your posts and doing some research I guess I will just have to save up some more to buy a good quality power supply , then everything else. I wont put 700+ EUR for the GPU , CPU , Motherboard then it will all just blow up becouse I forgot about the power supply .
