I don't know whether I should post here or an HDD sub or what.
Anyway, I'm in a situation where my Acer notebook doesn't boot it's Windows 7 OEM anymore or when it does make it to the desktop, it abruptly shuts down - blacks out.
This is always accompanied by a terrible grinding noise and weird horisontal lines and flickering on the screen (especially during the Win 7 logo).
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the HDD is busted.
I've hooked the allegedly busted HDD to my PC via USB to recover some precious files and that works fine.
So the question is, is it possible to recover my Win 7 OEM from that HDD using my PC and then loading it to a new HDD. If such options exist do you know a good tutorial or a walkthrough on the subject?
