Trying to stop the card from rebooting windows every time I start a game?

Usinng the 335 Drivers @ 1080p HDTV

Silverstones SFX 450 Gold certified V2.0

Using split 8 pin x2 on the Card. No heat issues with PSU> card speeds up to 80% RPM then windows goes blank and freezes> @ Windows 8.1 OS Fresh Install.

I'm using an Crucial 480 M.2 Drive> Norton Antivirus.

* Question: Could the Antivrus Hardware protector be doing this?

I changed the PSU cables and got crysis working. But still suspicious of the Nvidia Drivers?

* Can anyone chime in?

Upon POST, some systems will spin fans up to 100% or very high in order to prevent fan stalling and/or just as a test.

The system doesn't hang on post> it boots up no issues> log into WIndows 8.1> Desktop Start Screen etc>

As soon as I log into steam> start a game it works> then for High Res games settings it Crashes and freezes> No reboot though.

I've changed the Power cables > I had some Custom cables made from MOD DIY splitter cables> They might have been an issue when I first started having issue when not being able to even start a game> I replaced with different splitter cables and it boots into games but still freezes system.

*I've removed the Gainward Overclock utility, and not using anything right now > Presicion X is not downloadable at this time(Rediculous)

"Hardware monitor" reads CPU @ 96C> 2,400RPM for all 3 fans etc.(Software really sucks you have to call it to screen and there are no Desktop Gadget or system tray save setting> really crappy software imo compared to open Hardware monitor with Taskbar and Desktop Gadget capabilities etc.

* I'm able to play games with low res @ 1080p> But running Far Cry 3 Freezes the system (Blank screen) after I hear the fans ramp up full.

I could see it being a PSU issue> the GPU has X3 Fans> not just one fan like gtx 780 ti> The Gainward Phantom has X3 Fans that spin up that could be drawing alot of current as well.

Its has X2 8PIN PCI connectors which I've used to split from the single Rail PCI 8PIN on the PSU etc.

I've lowered my System Memory clocks to 1333HZ 1.50v

*Again I see it being a PSU issue> but the PSU Never Get's hot.

The card requires 42A on the 12v Rail> so...it could be the card ramps up past 42 AMPS when all the fans kick in> But still my psu doesn't get hot.

*I've even disabled Wifi because it can suck juice from the system for the Antena > and am using ethernet instead.

* I went and played Trine 2 Maxed settings> it played for about 10 secs with stuttering> slow motion charcters etc...then it shut off.

* Appologize I meant to Say my GPU temps.@ 96c (which is i turbo mode I assume)

My max CPU temps reach 58c

I've got a power surge supressor that Reads Watts output> when the system crashes the power in watts does not increase?> it reads around 280 W and thats with other Components plugged into it already.

* I've downloaded MSI afterburner to Downclock the Max Temps and memory clock> but the software doesn't seem to do that because it still causes reboot.

Could the card be defective? * I might have to wait for the 600W SFX to get to retailers, and pick one up and try it with that>> I could suspect the CPU power draw is alot as well * I've got a stock Clocked 4770K with asus Z97i-Plus etc.

* I attempted to downclock the GPU in MSI> It worked OK> I was able to idle on Game screen for a bit...

Then it crashed> the MSI Log showed> temps @ 82-82-85-85-86-90-91-93-93-95-98-99----100

The temps reached 100c? What is going on? O've got my case open running these tests and fans mounted to suck air through the card underneath etc> I can't see why it has to hit 100c .

Is the card designed to hit 100c for OC?

What is causing the card to reach 100C>

* Ok so then I had the system going without a crash> The MSI afterburner seemed to be working OK> Temps during ANY games never exceeded 78c after a half hour of play> this occured after I switched my bottom 120mm fans to push Air another way (flipped them around)

I put my DVD drive back in re-insalled fans> and it starts Freezing again?> Could this be a Mothebroard Bios issue?> I have 1 pin header split to 2 fans in DC mode> full speed RPM mode> could the bios change if I reconnect the fans to the motherboard?
