Greetings all, I'm an IT Professional that needs the criticisms of this forum.
It's been almost 10 years since I've built a desktop system (at home) and now I'm about to build TWO systems. I'd like some suggestions on if these will be good performers and would welcome any suggestions on what I might change to make them better without spending a lot of money. I've ran all these through PCPartsPicker and haven't found anything that's not compatible, but I'm more concerned with if I've created any bottlenecks anywhere on these two systems.
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond!
Build #1
Use: Wife is going back to college and wanted a desktop that will work well with multiple Office programs, music streaming, web browsing, etc. (No gaming.) She wanted something that wouldn't be a dinosaur after a year or two.
Build #2
Mid-High range gaming PC for myself. Something that's able to play WoW with at least 60 fps @ 1920x1080. mATX size (don't need all the PCI slots in an ATX). Might play other games down the road, would like to be able to play those will best graphics settings possible. Also used for general web browsing, not likely to be doing any graphics/video editing.
I *MIGHT* experiment with overclocking, so I would like some suggestions on cooling.
I've decided to stick with an i5 but wondered if I'd benefit any from an i7?
How would this build fare as a gaming machine? Any bottlenecks with the CPU?
