basicly this is what is happening with the current setup i have now, in most busy areas in the World of Warcraft im getting low frame rates from like 60 down to 10, but in non busy area with not alot around me i get well over 100 , now my main question is with the current setup , if i need to replace something or ive done something wrong , should this be able to run WoW with no issue , im Thinking my Cpu is Bottleneck the rest but i want to get someone else opinion before i go upgrade if i need to at all

Cpu - AMD FX 6100 3.3 ghz
Memory - 16 GB
HDD - 1 tb
SSD - 120gb - which has wow on it
Video Card - R7870 TWIN FROZR 2GD5/OC MSI
Motherboard - MSI 970A-G46 (MS-7693)
Psu - xsonic 700 watt

AMD's CPUs struggle in MMOs due to their low per-core performance. Your CPU is indeed holding your rig back in that game. With a 7870 you should be getting 60fps at 1080p with settings in the medium-high range depending on where you are in game (probably only medium for a 25m raid)

so if i were to upgrade my computer the cpu would be the only thing i would need to upgrade or would i need a intel compatible motherboard , im very new to building computer so parts are the issue tryin to find something suitable

If on your gpu you ment an r7-270 then you are fine, if you ment r9-280 then the cpu could be bottlenecking you.

Your setup looks pretty good and even if the cpu was holding you back you should not be having these issues. Are you hardwired into internet or using wifi, if using wifi then that is likely your problem.

If you upgraded your cpu to an fx-8350 there should be no performance issue. As stated above though, if you are on wifi then that might be the real cause of the problem.

Change the FX-6100 to a 6300 or better
Get a better power supply! That one is junk

wifi = ping, ping does not affect FPS

The 8350 will not have that much of an improvement. An intel i-3 will actually run WoW better than any AMD CPU due to the IPC performance. If you were to upgrade to Intel, you would need a new MOBO as well. What would be your budget?

3.3 Ghz, regardless of the CPU brand, is well above what you will need to succesfully play WoW.

Do you run a cable or Wi-Fi?

You are COMPLETELY wrong, the speed of the CPU is almost irrelevant, it is the efficiency through which the CPU architecture runs. If you take an Intel Haswell CPU with 4 cores @ 3Ghz, it will beat any AMD CPU with 4 cores @ 4.5Ghz hands down. I had an 8350 and would only get 45fps in Orgrimmar with 780s IN SLI AT 1080P. Now that I have a 4790k, I never go below 60fps, even in 25m raids.

Morale of the story, you can clearly see how even AMDs fastest CPU was bottlenecking my rig horridly.

You own a 7870, you said so in the first post.

Internet speed has almost no effect on your FPS whatsoever, like I've said about 3 times in this thread so far, it is your CPU creating a big bottleneck for you.
