R9 290 or 280x?

I've owned both, and although I never used the 280x for 4k, I can say with firm assurance that the r9 290 is a superior card. After adding a Kraken G10+H55 to it, and even before that, it got over 20% more FPS in most of the titles I play, even the intensive Company of Heroes 2.
