So basically I fresh installed Windows 7 about 3 months ago now, but the past 3 weeks I've noticed a weird trend. I'll be opening a new tab in any web browser or opening a new program but instead of opening it'll just sit there loading, then if I click on other programs I have open they to stop responding, sometimes I have to reset my computer, other times I wait up to ten minutes and then it goes back to normal only to repeat itself 20 minutes later. I've done all the recommended disk clean ups and all that but the only thing that I could find was that if I did a extended SMART scan it would get to a specific sector and just stop, the predicted time ended up being over a week so I just cancelled it and re-ran it but it got stuck on the same sector again. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated as formatting the drive and starting again would be a huge hassle.
