So this is my setup:
Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE
Graphics (probably not important for this): POV gtx 550ti
HDD: Seagate 500gb 7200rpm
SSD: Samsung EVO 120gb
RAM: 8gb 1333 Mhz

I have problems with my HDD, almost all the time my HDD is slow to load files and folders in Windows Explorer, and too many times it just disconnects.
I have Windows and Chrome on my SSD, and that is all, and rest of my programs and games are on my HDD and its really disturbing when I can't load up something because my HDD just cuts off.

I'm not sure if it is in my HDD that has 900+ days on the clock or is it just what time of storage I use. Can somebody explain what should I do? Also, I'm trying to prolong my SSD's life as much as I can,but I'd also like that my HDD doesn't suddenly cut off while I'm working on something.

Also does this R2.0 in name of my Mobo mean RAID 2? And is that a good thing?

Thank you guys in advance.

:D

r 2.0 is just revision 2.0 meaning it is version 2 of the board.

I would put all of the programs on the ssd, but it does sound like your hard drive is near the end of the life.

You can make sure that you are in DMA mode and not PIO mode, as that will slow hard drive transfers down to the point you feel like you are back in 1999.

Checked that, DMA was and is enabled.
Its not that, but thank you anyway.
