Monitor is too dark and mellow for my tastes?

I recently purchased the Asus VS228H-P as a second monitor and as far as the clarity of the image, it has been great. Unfortunately, beside my original monitor, the Asus just seems a bit too dark and mellow for what I am used to. Keep in mind that brightness is set to 100 right now and I have already tried all the different modes.

Is there no way I can help this situation?

Windows has an in built monitor calibration tool, you could try that.

Start > type search for calibration -> run the tool & set it as you like.

100% brightness sounds crazy, i have an Asus PB278Q and had to turn ti down to 28% from like 90%.
