Looking for grounding advice for first build

Hey there everyone, first time poster, I'm writing to ask for advice on grounding myself before I attempt to build my first "DIY" PC.

I will be buying an anti static wrist strap within the next couple of hours, but my question is, how could I ground myself? I feel snagged up as my case is 100% painted-no raw metal.

Same thing with my PSU...

I read earlier that screwing a screw into a screw hole on the case would work.. Is that correct? I shold also mention that literally nothing is inside the case EXCEPT the PSU but it is not hooked up to anything yet.. Does the PSU have to be plugged in and switched off to ground properly?

are you in a area where it is dry and you get static discharge a lot?

Not really, honestly its pretty few and far between I even "shock" myself or my wife.

i wouldn't worry about it to much then. You will be fine. if its humid and if you dont build it on carpet there will be no issue

Also does my power supply need to be plugged in and switched off the whole time I assemble? There's currently nothing but my PSU inside the case.

sry for the late reply. you don't need it plugged in. build it in the kitchen or dinning room. if your not in a area where you accumulating static charge you are fine. you are over thinking it
