Hello, sorry if i incorrectly lay this out or put this in the wrong section, i recently made an account and have already looked at other answers to the question im about to ask.

My AMD A8-5600k cpu is running very hot, i have a Fractal Design Core 1000 case (im using the default 120mm fan for air intake) a Gelid Silent 9 for the expulsion of air from the rear of the case (92mm) and a Corsair 120mm AF120 (currently disconnected due to waiting for an adaptor to power it)

My Cpu fan that im currently using is a Noctua NH-L9a to cool my CPU, i also have 2x4gb of ram, and a Radeon HD 7700 Ghost thermal GFX card and a Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-HD2 FM2 Micro ATX Mobo. Finally my PSU is a Corsair Builder Series 80+ Bronze CMPSU-430CXV2UK 430W

When checking my BIOS today i saw a CPU temperature of 53.0°C, and a System temperature of 33.0°C. I regularly check CPUID HWMonitor and that produces an idle temperature of 60-75°C, and usually when running borderlands 2 on high 1600 x 900 at 60 fps HWmonitor yields an approximate range of 80 - 95°C.

I cleaned out my pc 2 days ago and reapplied thermal paste, etc and the Gelid fan is a new addition to my build. Now that i have a full(ish) system of airflow (in and out) i thought it may have made a larger difference than, however if any difference, only minor.

I was wondering if any of you who know more about computers than i do help me cool down my rig? as im worried about the temperatures its getting to (highest ever 97°C)

Thank You for reading
~Loz

I'm not sure what to say... this cooler doesn't look particularly sophisticated. In terms of surface volume its not much bigger than the stock one, but that shouldn't make work worse than the actually stock.

Yes i know the cooler isnt ideal however i found difficulty finding an aftermarket cooler that was small enough to fit in my case without getting in the way of ram slots

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

It is only 138mm tall and the fan is moved away from the DIMMs

So you think i need a new cooler? ill take a look at new ones alongside your recommended one, thank you
