Hey there,

I have the msi geforce gtx 770 oc twin frozr iv 4gb. If I use the "Msi Gaming App' It let me just overclock it at a click of a button. Is this good enough for games or should I ticker with afterburner or evga precision ???

This is my first real gaming rig and I'm new to overclocking so I like some expert opinions if it's worth overclocking more.

I like to play all the latest in graphic's demanding games :)

The factory overclock should be able to play most games on good quality already. if you want to overclock it more, afterburner would be a bit better I'd imagine. I'm not sure about the MSi gaming app, but the afterburner has plenty of options. As long as you don't just slide things to the max, you'll do fine.

I don't think you should oc it more than it is already, nor would you really need to.

Hi ominous11, use Afterburner and what I do is I increase the clock up by 5MHz first, then if it needs voltage then I'll give it 5+. Then I stress-test after every 25MHz. I keep doing that till I know whatever clock I'm tuning can't handle anymore.

Start with the GPU Core Clock.

Some games like crysis 3 I find I can play everything on ultra but when I get pass 8x aa I start to loose frames and sit about 35-40fps. I was hoping if I can increase the gpu setting I could push the game a litter further ! So thanks for the reply's !!!

I'll try after burner tomorrow !

Geek Jed, what do you stress with ?? Prime 95 ? Heaven Benchmark 4.0 ?
