I have been planing to upgrade my Graphics Card, buy a new monitor, and an SSD. But I am not sure if I should do this before upgrading my Motherboard or CPU http://

Do you think these items need to be upgraded or can I just go for a new GPU etc...

Solution
The motherboard decides how many features you get. Like how many expansion slots, storage slots, memory slots, cpu support, wifi/bluetooth, how many onboard io ports, oc capability etc etc.
So if you have a motherboard now and you don't need anything extra, like on of the things i mentioned, then upgrading the motherboard would be for nothing. It is required to upgrade the motherboard if your cpu has another socket.
So stick with your mobo, unless you upgrade the cpu to another socket one.

Okay, is a motherboard something that really doesn't need to be upgraded for a long time? And how can I tell if my CPU starts to bottleneck? I heard you don't need anything over an i5 for gaming.

Most games, as off right now, doesn't need more cpu power than the i5. Games are really gpu dependent. Maybe over the next year or so it may change, but until then your cpu is good. If you notice lag in games, low frame rates, and you have a good graphics card then it may be the cpu thats bottenecking. That's a way to know it.
If you won't be upgrading the cpu, then there is no need to upgrade the mobo.

I don't understand the point of every upgrading a mother board. Would I only upgrade it if my new CPU doesnt fit in the socket? does upgrading a mobo even give anything useful? (not very familiar with motherboards).
