My computer crashed a few days ago, and boots into a screen saying that it's had some critical problem, and that I need to insert the installation media cd/usb for it to begin repairs.
The problem is, I downloaded Windows 8 in RP. I bought it when prompted when it officially came out, and I've had it ever since. I never had a physical product key, and I cannot access my PC to get it. I tried Microsoft customer support, but their end response was "You can try taking it to a local repair shop or buy Windows 8 again."
Is there a way for me to locate my product key online through Microsoft's website, or some way to get an ISO file LEGALLY for Windows 8, so that I can begin fixing it?
I refuse to pay for an operating system twice, because that's ridiculous, but I do need my computer back.
I bought it as Windows 8, but used the free upgrade to 8.1.
