I have a Win8 desktop with two monitors and a keyboard mouse. I would like to hook up another computer to one of the monitors (for now) via VGA and use the same keyboard and mouse. The second computer will be running some flavor of Linux, and eventually I will be hooking up a dedicated monitor to the computer (still using same keyboard and mouse).
What would be the suggestion for such a situation? I have looked at some of the software solutions, but they didn't really seem to do what I wanted as I will be starting off with one monitor.
Also, it seems that KVM switches are really hit or miss.
