I just bought a new hard drive and did a fresh install of Windows 8, After installing Chrome and trying to watch video's from either youtube, ign, etc. etc. My videos at random freeze then give my computer a micro lockup for about 1 second then it resumes playing. Some videos it only happens every so often others it happens nonstop. I tried out watching the same Video's in IE with no problem at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Oddly enough I was checking out my GPU performance while I had chrome open. My GPU was spooling up to 70% power usage but 0% GPU usage when I had chrome installed, I also did the same check for IE and it was the same. I then removed chrome all together and tried running IE again but this time my power usage would spike when a page loaded but would return back down to 10% as per normal. For some reason Chrome is causing some pretty serious issues on a fresh install for some reason. The only plugins I had installed were adblock and google docs both of which I disabled and it was still the same result. I think I am just going to chalk this up to gremlins and stick with IE.
let me know if you figured this out.. this same problem with chrome freezing up on videos is driving me crazy.. I tried everything from clearing my cache, disenabling the flash for built in chrome flash and the regular flash install, tried resetting chrome to it's default, ... dumb chrome browser.. pissing me off..
