i was wondering about transforming my pc into a server once i get my new pc... do you need like a good internet connection for a server or what.. im trying to find out how to create server and what you need for it like internet/hardware/software wise

Solution
That computer will be great for small Minecraft servers. With those specs you could run a Minecraft server that could hold somewhere around 20 people. But this greatly depends on your internet speeds. It is possible to run multiple game servers on one machine. But with this computer you could not run a lot of game servers at once. Regarding hardware, you will also need a router that lets you forward ports. I have quite a bit of experience setting up Minecraft servers. If you would like help, feel free to contact me.

What do you mean by a certain router? i also plan to use it for only 1 game... also i wanna run this server to play with some friends which would only have 5-10 people on it at a time maybe.. also would the server take up a lot of power?

The higher your internet speeds, the better. Professional hosting companies usually have 1000 Mbps or more for upload and download. The number of people able to join greatly depends on the game. If your playing Minecraft and using this computer to host, you should be able to have 15-20 players join. The ping is not affected to much by internet speed. It is mostly affected by geographic location. The father away you are the higher the ping.
