video card too small for pci slots

The card will fit in to the blue slot nearest the processor .
If its not clicking down and in to place that can be the small metal tag that goes into a slot in the case under the back of the motherboard

The mother board specs are :Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G HDMI USB...
The board is black & grey. My Mom gave me the wrong specs. Also there are no metal tags long enough to fit through the mother board on my video card.
HOpe someone can help...

The metal back plate of the graphics card is always long enough to slot down between the case and the mb .

Its still the slot nearest the processor . It is marked "PCIEX16"
its the standard shape and size that accepts a graphics card
There could be a tiny chance you have a graphics card designed to fit in to a much older AGP slot , but Im not even sure they make any AGP cards these days
