Hey

Basically i was playing a stressing game for this system, and it shut down on me which is not something it did before but it's the summer so not unheard of. When attempting to start it powered down like half-one second after start every time without any beep code, then after plugging and taking out everything one by one beside cpu and checking for anything odd and putting it all together it did so willingly so i said whatever, then at next startup it had the same issue, which i managed to get past by just unplugging the cpu and trying to start without, then replugging it and it, and this happened three times so far.

It was working without a problem for a long time all it got was dusting, still does after that weird start.

More about : year powers start works cpu replugged

You can use one of these to test your power supply.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

It doesn't have to be power supply. Unplug hard drive / cd drive / ssd and try to boot again. If it boots to the bios, you can usually check hardware status - motherboard and cpu temperatures here to make sure something isn't overheating. You should also be able to check power supply voltages here also before you try and buy the power supply tester.
If you have a graphics card, try to remove that also by either swapping with an old card or if your board has integrated graphics try with just that and no graphics card.
Try leaving only one RAM stick in computer. Try booting. If still shuts down, move RAM stick to another slot and so forth to eliminate problems with RAM slot. If you have 2 RAM sticks try the steps above with one first then swap with other one.

To test your RAM download the Memtest ISO from here at the top right and boot from the CD you will create.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/memtest86.html
You can burn the Memtest ISO image after you uncompress it.
After it's uncompressed burn it with http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn.

Most of the problems occur with RAM failure or power supply failure especially from age and or power surge / weather.
Motherboards failure runs a distant 3rd in line of percentage of failures unless you are dealing with a store bought / not enthusiast computer.

I ended up shutting it down and replugging cpu didn't work any more, and i was baffled why it did the first place, on my way to check everything again it does seem video card has some sort of contact issue with it's slot, i also tried in other slot, it didn't even work there, and if i screw the card like i am supposed and was for all the years, it doesn't seem to work, so i left it without screw and started the pc multiple times and it works.

I didn't rule out motherboard issue despite never having one, i am just a user so my experience is limited, i had countless power supplies die on me, this doesn't look like that kind of issue, and playing around with other parts didn't have any effect.

Thanks, i just keep my eye on it, if it keeps going just without a screw that works for me, if not ill be closer to actually replacing the correct part instead of being told to buy a new pc in store :)

bring it to a pc repair and they will tell you for 10-20$ what is wrong with the system .
