Keyboard problem, please help! (Thinking water or electrical damage)

In short, random keys on all of my keyboards have stopped working when plugged into my PC Tower (Custom build). The keyboard I am currently using is only having problems with 3 of the keys (pulling up the on screen keyboard) "zx-", which makes it the most manageable for posting this. There hasn't been any water damage to any of my keyboards and I've tried a wide variety of methods to repair the problem.

Now for the long part. My girlfriend went into labor on the 4th of July with my little boy. I shut my computer down before I left for the hospital and didn't turn it back on for nearly 2 weeks. During this time, we had a vicious storm (to which I happened to have left my bedroom window open) and I've been tossing around the idea of water damage to the tower OR an electrical surge. My basis for these theories is that my relatively new TV which is slightly further from the window than my computer is DEAD... Like... dead dead. Again, perfectly working before I had left for the hospital.

I'm having trouble giving myself the satisfaction of saying "That's it!" because the computer is functioning perfect outside of this issue. It just doesn't add up!

I recently updated to 8.1, but I believe that was after these problems started and I hadn't yet reali(z)ed (Thank you autocorrect) the issues were here.

Please share any information that you have come across or experienced yourself.
Many thanks,

Matt
