for strictly gaming less cores at higher Ghz each will be better. This is where the overclocked FX 6300 comes in. unlike the 125w TDP of the 8 core chips, the 6300 overclocks easily on little extra voltage (and is 95W tdp). Games can usually use 2-4 threads, 4 being the standard now and many games looking to use 6-8 in the near near future, this is why the majority of games run better on intel. it has higher IPC (instructions per clock cycle) and stronger single core/thread performance. For a game that can use no more than one or two threads/cores (like minecraft for example) any intel would tromp even an 100 core FX chip. its simply a matter of what the game can utilize. You don't need the 8350, you can go with the 8320 and OC it to 8350 speeds , or you can get the 6300 as well, and put money on other parts. Would recommend switching out that motherboard to this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128651 Your GPU is fine, but if you can get a 280x go for it. The build you have made will have no problem maxing out most games on 1920x1080 res. But you should get a better mobo, and change your CPU to a 8320/6300.

Now API's are being written for mutlicore support and newer and newer games take advantage of more cores, so FX 6300 is a pretty good position to be in.

-Snag yourself a decent cooler like the Hyper 212 EVO from Cooler Master and this will allow you to overclock to 4.5Ghz or more if you have the NOn LE version of your board. Once you do youll have a chip that matches the performance of the 8 core FX chip at stock.
