I'm not sure if this is in the right area, but lately I've been having this problem where my screen will spaz out and I'll have to restart my computer to correct the issue and It'll be fine for maybe a day or 2, maybe less and do it again. At first I thought it was because I was having memory issues, but I was able to solve that problem, but I still have the screen doing it's weird thing. Any help is welcome and again, if I'm posting in the wrong section, sorry. I upgraded my graphics card over a year ago I believe from a Sapphire 4670 to a HIS iCooler 7770 and haven't had any problems up until maybe a month ago. If you need more specs, let me know and I'll post more. I'm also Windows 7 and Intel i5.

Solution
Try downloading GPU-Z and checking your GPU's temperature during a game by alt-tabbing directly to GPU-Z (the temp will drop rapidly even while alt-tabbed).

It's possible your GPU is overheating.

Your screen is spazing out for several reasons. One that is already mentioned is the fact your gpu is overheating.
1. Post your specs, overclock?

2. If you are overclocking your gpu, you need to cool it by manually adjusting the fans. MSI afterburner is a good program to do overclocking. And if you overclock your memory, it spazes out because it can't handle the clock rate.

3. Depending if you are using AMD cpu. If you are overclocking CPU in games, certain games do not like CPU overclocks. This often happens to me in Ubisoft games. The Northbriduge is being choked up by your HyperTransport sync. Increase your NB frequency keeping HT same.

4. If you are not overclocking anything and your screen is spazzing out it means your gpu is starting to fail.

This worries me the most. This post and the other post makes me feel like this is the case because I don't push my PC to the max by any stretch. Occasionally game, but otherwise for multi-tasking and entertainment. The other day, I got the screen spaz out and then followed by the blue screen.

It will be very interesting to see your GPU temperatures. Try checking GPU-Z temperature indicator during various tasks such as desktop (idle), watching videos/browsing (Basic tasks) and gaming (under load).

As of right now, just browsing the internet, watching multiple streams and playing music, my GPU is between 27% - 29%
@ 44°C - 45°C.

I'll try playing a more GPU heavy game and report the GPU temperatures. Thanks again for your help!

*Update*
After doing my normal tasks, running a video editor and playing an online game, My GPU was between 70% - 72% @ 51°C - 55°C.

That looks normal to me. Maybe your thermal paste is old? Try replacing it and it will work wonders on gpu temps depending on what paste you buy. I use MX-4 from Artic for both CPU and GPU.

Ok, I'll look into that and seeing if that helps. So far, I haven't had any problems with my computer and it's been several days since the last time it spazzed out after installing the program to monitor my temps. Thank you again for your input. I'm not sure if my issue is solved or not, but I'll look into the thermal paste.

Try a program called SpeedFan, it checks all your temps including case temp, gpu, cpu, hdd, etc... That way you get a more detailed temp list.

Ok, getting it now and I'll check it out.
