Performance (40% of the final score) - scoring this unit is as easy as it gets, because it's getting a perfect score. No points are coming off for efficiency, because we not only passed Gold both times, but because we were still over 87% at the 10% load as well. No points off for voltage regulation, because we were comfortably above the line for excellence on all three main rails. And certainly no points off for ripple suppression, where this unit handily bested the Seasonic competition. 10.
Functionality (20% of the final score) - this score will be identical to little brother, because the level of functionality is identical. Love that full modularity. The cables are still a bit on the long side, I think, and that owner's manual still needs improvement. Half a point deducted for each, and that's it. 9.
Value (20% of the final score) - she's going for $199.99 at Newegg right now. That is a complete and utter no-brainer. There is no competition for this unit anywhere near that price. You have to pay $55 more to get your hands on the Seasonic X-1250, $30 more to get the XFX equivalent, and let's not forget the $130-$150 premium to get the AX1200i. 10.
Build Quality (20% of the final score) - see the 1kW version. Half a point off for the capacitors on the modular board, full stop, end of deductions. 9.5.
