I'll get to the point -

Approximate Purchase Date: Purchasing parts starting from ~August all the way to ~ December

Budget Range: ~ $1,600. No more than $1,700 before rebates, shipping, and deals.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, everyday usage, Blender, occasional image/video editing.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes
Do you need to buy OS: Yes
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon, NewEgg, Microcenter
Location: U.S.A.
Parts Preferences: None really, not a fan of Seagate though.
SLI or Crossfire: I would like the option, but certainly not necessary.
Your Monitor Resolution: Don't have one, but I would like it to be at least 1080p.
Overclocking: Would like the option.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Because my 'portable' laptop is missing a V key, requires a cooling pad and the back-plate removed to keep cool, 32-bit with 3GB of ram, barely runs Minecraft with minimum setting, etc..

Additional Comments: I've been using laptops for a while, so I need basically everything. Keyboard, headphones, mouse, etc.. Headphones I was using have broken, and the mouse I was using is starting to quit on me. I would like decent peripherals, don't need anything flashy just want it to work, and do it well.
Portability is a big factor in this build.
How tall is the Prodigy without the handles on?
Noise isn't THAT big of an issue, but I wouldn't like any excessively loud components.
Future proofing (I'm used to minimum settings, so I should be good for a while) is a big factor in this build. Its going to be my rig for the next few years.

Here is the build I've built:

The BitFenix prodigy is huge.

As for keyboard, mouse and headphones, I would get this instead

(Logitech gaming bundle):

Other than that, your build looks good to me. :)
