I thought on getting a EVGA Z97 Classified, But I want to hear your opinions and suggest me another motherboard if you know any else.

Things I will do is overclocking and gaming. My planned build is here:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/49N7GX (I will be waiting for fractal designs watercoolers, the kelvin series. But i will be going after there S36 once it's released.)

I also forgot to mention that I will also have physx enabled.

More about : motherboard suggest

I'd pass on the EVGA, their mobo business has all but dried up and away, maybe get the Asus Hero and then more and better DRAM (higher freq) or take the savings towards a 780TI

780 TI isn't a solution, due to watch dogs. And do you mean RAM? cause higher frequency is useless.

~130$ ASRock z97 extreme4

~200$ ASUS Maximus VII Hero

Anything past that get the ASUS z97 deluxe

How many graphics cards do you want to mount?

How much and how fast ram do you want?

Any other requirements?

What case do you want it to fit in?

I'm not trying to get you to get the cheapest. I'm trying to get the best.

Asus have the best rep for quality. Though I think ASRock is right behind. ASRock is probably also best for value.

OK sorry - missed it. There's nothing there to indicate you really need a top end board.

Maybe an Asus Maxiumus Hero at the most.

Have a look at - http://www.asus.com/us/site/motherboards/Z97/comparison... and see if there's something else that catches your eye.

If money was no object, we'd be looking at an X79 build.

I possibly could do a X79 build.

Might look at the 4930K and the Asus X79 Deluxe, it's one of their two newer X79 models they came out w/ for the IB-E CPUs

The Black is a great mobo - (it's the other new one), would suggest however if going X79 will want a 4x set of DRAM to utilize the quad channel aspect of the rig maybe a 4x4GB 1866 or so, GSkill Snipers are great with the Black mobo

I'm not sure if quad channel is necessary.

Then back to the Z97 - for overclocking or gaming could do a build similar to my Z87 or Z97 (both in sig) and be happy w/ it ;)

Unless going tri or quad SLI/XFire and not going to run quad channel then you don't really gain anything w/ X79 - the Z97 is a better gaming platform unless going whole hog... The bulk of X79's I build are heavy duty workstations rather than gaming rigs

Whatever, it's your call, you're the one that will have to be happy with it, just don't see any sense in going overboard on a couple of things and that you won't utilize and skimp on others

You get similar on most motherboards now. My ASRock X79 (AXTU) is easy to use.

The newer Z97 mobo's have even more sophisticated versions.

The OC panel is sort of a neat thing, but can OC more precisely via the BIOS direct

Should I wait for the VII Formula and buy the OC panel separate?

Going that route, I'd get the Formula and use it for awhile and then see if you think you even need the Panel

The panel makes it simpler for me than overclocking it in bios. If I wanted it to be normal mode I would have to restart the computer to be able to go into the bios again, the panel is only 1 touch to be normal mode or overclocking mode. The panel still has more advantages than the bios.

Sure, and if you do the 1 touch and it doesn't work - what then? just quit? Working in the BIOS allows you much more freedom - if a preset through the panel is a bust (say going to 4.4) and you WANT that OC, you can prob get it fairly easily in the BIOS with a little additional vCore voltage or maybe lower the PCH voltage or raise the MC voltage, etc...the Panel doesn't have the OCer tricks in mind and is therefore more limited

Well a bit of progress, so you are only looking for a bit of easy OC, then sure can wait for the Formula and get the panel separate. Can also go with any ROG mobo that has the ROG-EXT header on the mobo
