Hey there, I ordered an Intel i5 4690k and all i need now is a motherboard. I'm looking for something cheap, but good. All the 'good' ones i see are $100+ and thats a bit overkill for me. This is what i'm looking for in the motherboard - I want to overclock the 4790k in the future, i want it to have 32 gigs max (planning on keeping this for a longggg time) and i want it to have a slot for my dated, yet useful ATI Radeon HD 5770.

And off topic question, what's the slot for the video card called? PCI-e? Also, do new cards use the same slot as older cards (my 5770). I'll be changing this card sometime by the end of the year and it would suck if i buy a new one and it doesn't fit. Thanks in advance to who can help me ^^

EDIT: Also, do these high end z87's and z97's affect games? Like it looks fancy and stuff but does it add to game performance? That's what i'm going to be doing with this PC, gaming.

Asrock extreme 4 is really the cheapest mobo to recommend for a 4690k.

As for gpu slots they use PCI-e. Your old card is probably PCI 2.0 while the new ones are 3.0 it's the same slot and either will work and all new boards use 3.0 so you will be fine now and in the future

Edit: mobos don't affect performance accept that better ones can overclock better and last longer and have more useful features.

As much as i'd like to buy one of those i can't afford it. Quick question, are Micro ATX boards bad? What are the pros and cons with micro vs normal? (Besides less slots). Thinking of getting a Micro ATX board, they seem great on paper (16 gigs is great enough for me). As long as Micro ATX boards don't overheat and explode i'll gladly purchase one.
