My dad tells me to not build a pc, and to buy one and upgrade it from their because of warranty and support. As well as him not wanting to waste money if the parts aren't compatible, some of my cousins work in the computer industry and one of them told me 2 years ago he tried to build a computer, but there were driver problems, and compatibility issues, any possible way of convincing him it'll be compatible. I also need help on confirming the parts are compatible or not.

That'll run OK.

I'd look at Hasell refresh/Devil's Canyon instead though - i5 4690k and (per http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/mainstream-gaming-z97-motherboard,3824.html) - ASRock Z97 Extreme 4

I'd prefer to get 1.5V cl9 1866 ram

For the gtx760 you really only neede a 500W power supply eg Seasonic 520, XFX 550 or Antec HCG 520M

I don't think you'll need those case fans either.

And the Hyper 212 evo comes with its own thermal paste.

I'd rather an Asus 24 in monitor.

I plan to SLI in the future with the gtx 760 and 750w psu. To be perfectly honest I got the Asus Z87-plus because of the 4-way optimization but I'll look into z97 monos and the i5-4690k
