I was debating whether to buy a GTX 780 or two GTX 770 in SLI
Ultimately i want to run 3 monitors (1920*1080). I won't be playing the high end games like BF4 and stuff, but games more like football manager, dayZ.

Here is the parts i will probably get.

So which one should i get a GTX 780 or two GTX 770 in SLI

Solution
because you want 3 monitors to game on, you would really want 4gb vram, so i would get a 290/X/, as they are faster than the 780 when overclocked, cheaper, and have more vram. the only drawback is that they will run hotter and louder.

I don't think 2x4gb version will be needed unless he goes to a higher resolution in the near future, 2 x 2gb versions should be enough to run your games as more vram is only needed if your resolution is too demanding, like 4k, or 1440p

did you just say that 2 R9 290's have the same performance of a single 780? not true at all, infact, at stock speeds they are about the same, and when you overclock both of them, the 290 is much faster.

no one is what i meant, reading my last post i can see the confusion.

ah, ok :p

But let's say, you're swimming in money, would the 780 ti not be your preference? and if you asked anyone, free r2 290x or a 780 ti, what would you pick? :) But this is getting off topic

Which one would you pick?, 2 R9 290's or a GTX 780 Ti

I know which one i would.

It's on topic, were giving him his options on graphics cards.

yeah but the r2 290 is not the 770, neither is the 780 ti a 780, I merely said, 'or get a 780 ti' as a joke :) I didn't intend for him to actually get a 780 ti, also, you still have't answered MY question, would you rather a r2 290x or a 780 ti? If you could have one for free
