2x5970 vs r9 280 x

hi i've recently bid on a hd5970 on ebay and I won it for £40 at first I was going to sell it on for a profit but then I thought id ask you is it worth getting another one cheap and having quadfire or just continuing to use my r9 280x what will the performance be like

280x would be massively better. Quad crossfire support is really bad. Meaning, after two cards, the performance doesn't improve or would improve very little. A 280x 3 gb of vram, dx 11 support, and better overall architecture makes it an easy choose. The 5970 runs really hot as is, CFing the card would
mean huge power consumption and large amounts of heat.
