-CPU- Xeon E3 1231v3 is basically a i7 without the integrated GPu (dont need anyways) and cannot be overclocked (but neither could the CPU in the pre-built)
-Mobo- Higher qualtiy H97 mobo, compatible with future broadwell series if you are looking to upgrade in 2-3 years.
-GPU- r9 280x is more powerful than the r9 280, the 280x is basically the sweet spot for 1080p gaming, can play almost every game out at ultra settings 60+ fps
-PSU- One of my preferred brands, 620w is enough for pretty much any single GPU so you could upgrade in years to come on it. Good quality unit supplied by Seasonic.

Basically better GPU, CPU, Mobo, PSU (imo) but $60 more and you have to build it yourself.

The pre-built isn't bad for the price since the exact components they use would come out to about $1200 if you built it yourself but you probably won't get 60+ fps on BF4 Ultra settings with the r9 280.

Edit: If you want to absolutely guarantee 60+fps BF4 then grab the r9 290 for $100 more, preferably a 3 fan version
