Hi,
I have an older laptop that came with Windows 7 OEM. I upgraded to Windows 8 and have since upgraded to 8.1. I do have a physical DVD with Windows 8 on it. I also wiped the partition with the original Windows 7 installation files.
My questions are as follows:
1. Will I be able to install Windows 8 from the disk on the new PC and activate it using my existing Product Key that I got in an email when upgrading to Windows 8?
2. If I activate Windows 8 on the new PC, will the copy on my old laptop stop working immediately?
3. Can I install a downloaded copy of Windows 7 on my laptop and activate it with the Product Key that is on the sticker on my laptop or do I need an OEM version?
I would like to install Windows 8 on my new PC but still be able to use my laptop so I can backup some stuff etc. I don't mind not activating Windows on the new PC immediately.
Thanks.
