Hi guys. Been a long time browser of the forum and just finished my first mini itx build. I don't have a graphics card yet so I'm running this off the motherboards integrated graphics and audio. I'm now having some difficulties getting sound to come through my hdmi cable. I can't set hdmi audio as default for some reason. It's in gray. I've done driver updates and such also. Here's a list for my build

Intel i5-4690k
Gigabyte GA-z97n gaming 5 (rev 1.0) mini itx
8 gigs corsair ballistix sport (1600) 2x4
Corsair CX600 power supply
PNY and Crucial SSD 240gig + 256gig
Arctic freezer 11LP
Cooler Master Elite 130

Help would be appreciated! Thanks!

What are running the HDMI into? The mobo has to recognize the audio input.

The HDMI cable is running directly into the tv. From motherboard into TV

What model TV? Sounds like Windows isn't recognizing the input. No sound but getting video?

It's a LG 42 inch LED smart tv. There's video but no audio. I find it weird because in the sound settings there's an hdmi option but says disconnected even though it's directly hooked up. So I'm at a lost.
