I bought a pre-built PC with the Asus M5A78L-M motherboard and with 2x4gb A-DATA 1600mhz ddr3 RAM.
I had many random BSOD's and eventually used memtest86+ to find that the ram was faulty. I later reduced the ram frequency from 1600(stock which was running at first) to 1333. The BSOD's stopped and memtest no longer gave errors (8 passes).
The MB documentation says it supports 1066/1333/1600(o.c)/1800(o.c)..............
Does this mean I need to overclock my cpu do be able to use the 1600mhz RAM (the discription has an 'o.c.' next to it but not for 1333mhz.
specs:
cpu: amd fx 6300 (stock at 3500ghz but amd turbo to up to 4100ghz)
mb: M5A78L-M
ram: a-data ddr3 2x4gb 1600mhz ram
gfx: amd r7 240
