Red error GPU

so ive had my current build for about 2 years now. But the gpu is about a year old. my problem is that on start up my motherboard goes through 3 check lights and stops at the one next to the GPU. i get no signal to my monitors. it first happened when i was in game and my pc just turned itself off. so i thouhgt it was the psu and bought a new one. but i still have the same problem. its a XFX Radeon HD 7970 and my motherboard is an ASUS sabertooth x58. psu is corsair RM850w

Re-seat the graphics card, if it still doesn't work just send it back for warranty. It should have at least 2 years. There is a small chance that its the motherboard but if you don't have another graphics card to test its impossible to know for sure (unless you have integrated graphics)
