To rebutle Anonymouse's answer, the FX-8350 is MUCH better in gaming and quite a bit in rendering. Also, the CPU isn't everything in gaming, make sure you have an appropriate GPU as well. My FX-8320 blows everything I throw at it out of the water. Rendering video is a breeze, editing is flawless, multi-tasking 12 windows at once is smooth as butter, and playing Sniper Elite is near heaven. Not only is is quite a bit better then Intel, but also half, even sometimes a quater of the price Intel offers! Go with the first one, you shall not regret it!

The intel by alot for video editing and Photoshop. In gaming they are about the same.

In gaming the AMD wins for the price.
But because you want to to video editing the intel is much better. Just you pay price premium.

If you're doing alot of video editing and major photo editing. I would recommend an i7. It's hyperthreading doesn't help in games but it does help in editing.

Good luck.

The 8320 is in no way better for gaming than the i5...
Games hardly use 4 threads, let alone 8 of the 8320, and the i5 has much higher single threaded performance.
The 8320 will pull a slight edge in some multithreaded tasks, such as some editing, not all.

The main and really only draw of the 8320 is the pricing.
This isnt answerable without knowing the GPU. If its the same for both builds the i5 is much better.

You lot are a bit late :p I decided to go with an 8350 and a really good motherboard and cooler and I've decided I'm going to overclock it as much as I can :)

By the way my GPU is an R9 270 MSI 2GB Gaming Edition

Good choice! Prepare for great gaming and excellent multitasking! Although it does get a bit hot, so make sure to have a good enough heatsink/cooler! Good luck! :-D

So.... did you guess the 8320's performance by specs or hard evidence by testing it for yourself?

I've been told by so many people to get the FX8350 for what I need to do, the video editing by the way is nothing major, just a few renders here and there.

There are A LOT of websites that are biased against intel, this has actually been proven by Tek Syndicate in this video:

LOTS of people are biased to say that Intel is better, I'll even go far as to say they are fanboys. So benchmark sources usually are set up in a way to kinda make Intel seem the way to go because it's for "elitists"{ and "true gamers". Anyway you made the right decision. Once you get all your video stuff and gaming done come post here or pm me! I would like to see how the 8350 does myself.
