Hey all. Probably get these sort of inquiries a lot, but I don't know any people or places to ask about this subject. I'm new to this whole custom computer-building thing, though am trying my best hand with the researching all the necessities. So far I've come up with a list of my chosen pieces.

However - was wondering if anyone could offer any advice, opinions, or suggestions that could be given about if these parts would work well together and would make a great, solid, running computer. I'm mostly looking to use it for high-performance gaming and computer programming, but definitely want it to be able to do anything for me.

Thanks all in advance.

Nice build...Power supply is a bit overkill but it is a sweet one. I would suggest a flavor of windows 7 64bit. I personally hate Windows 8. Also, do not connect the WD to anything until the os is installed on the ssd. Save a bit on the PSU and upgrade ssd to 250 gig samsung 840 evo.

windows 8 is an abomination. the only reason its good is because its more supported now, so in ways ones forced to consider it. Also it can be transferred from motherboard to motherboard while windows 7 is tied to the motherboard its installed to (for OEM at least). Otherwise the OS and its functionality is terribly. Good boot times.

If you can get that R9 290.... it will be amazing.
In a way I`m sorry that you don`t get the chance to try out a GTX 760, so that afterwards you realize the difference.

Also, as it`s been said, PSU is overkill, and as well is the motherboard since you`re not getting the "K" version of the CPU, so you will not be able to play with the overclocking features.
