I recently installed new CPU ( Core 2 Quad Q9550 ) and since then every time I launch some game whether it is watch dogs , Call of duty 4 , Godfather 2 ... I play for about an hour and then the game freezes and I hear some noise ( trrrr ) and then colors on the screen mix up and I see blue y, yellow , green ... just freezed. Or I just get blue screen saying atikmda.sys or dxgmss1.sys - and it happends EVERY TIME or sometimes it doesnt even say anything just 0x00009 something like that. So what should I do? GPU : Radeon HD 7870 MSI OC Edition , Motherboard : P5Q SE/R 4 GB RAM ddr 2 . I used to have Core 2 Duo E8500 if that helps. And I updated all drivers for graphic card. I have windows 7 64 bit

what is CPU temp while gaming. GPU temp while Gaming? are you overclocked?

Try clearing CMOS on bios, to default. Are you on the latest BIOS version> may need to update bios

If your system was hard power cycling I would say it was a cooling problem.
Becuase of the errors you are having then you bought a dud cpu or your motherboard does not fully support it it. You can check if there is a bios upgrade but do know that there is always a small risk of "bricking" your motherboard (meaning to scramble the software on the chip and thus making the board nothing more then a brick or a paperweight).

CPU temperature about 60 C and GPU temperature is about 50 C . Only GPU is overclocked factory (Overclock edition) I tried putting out battery and then returning it in- it reseted bios right? - maybe I should update bios

No, removing battery does not entirly clear cmos. Get manual for your motherboard and follow directions, there will be a jumper you have to move and move back.

removing the battery for 15-20 minutes will clear the CMOS. But like above said, best to use jumper (instruction in manual). I will venture to say you need a bios update for sure.

WhoCrashed cannot determine whether it is a driver or hardware, it is just an opinion. The drivers it is pointing to, both refer to your GPU drivers. That dosnt specifically mean the GPU is the cause of the crash, just that those driver were being utilized during the crash.

Like someone else said, if you crash while gaming, heat could also be the issue. Or unstable over clock. Try bios reset and/or update
