Just trying to wrap my head around what a good price for these components would be. All parts were purchased new back in April-May 2014.

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Toshiba Q Series Pro 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Tri-X Video Card (2-Way CrossFire)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB Video Card (2-Way CrossFire)
Case: Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 850W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)

What would you pay for this system? Keep in mind the components are used, but otherwise in perfect shape. Thanks :)

Try Amazon, its pretty ez place to sell and the seller fees are less, plus you don't have ebay double dipping with their paypal fees.

for example if this is your sapphire card.

http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Version-PCI-Express-Graphics-11227-00-40G/dp/B00HJOXUKC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406142727&sr=8-1&keywords=Sapphire+Radeon+R9+290+4GB+Tri-X

$335 used. I'd just under cut and list at $320 and you'll probably get a buyer.

My only suggestion would be to take photos of all the serial numbers/boxes together and even the item. Plenty of shitheads try to scam these days so you gotta protect yourself.

Used components are hard to price.. It ultimately boils down to what someone is willing to pay. I mean if you lets say put them on ebay..you could get a bidding war..or you could get minimal interest. I'd say you as a baseline you could expect to get 70-75% of the original value. The older the components are (not just in terms of when they were purchased..but rather actually RELEASED) is another factor.

You've got to understand the components could be used for 3 days..their still USED. That's how someone is going to see it. Hell look at cars for example. The MOMENT you drive that car off the lot, you've lost money.

Also, you cannot sell an OEM windows key. You'll get whatever auction site you post it on flagged and then removed...and its against their TOS.

That's a really nice system. If you had to buy today, the parts would set you back around $2,000. Used, I guess you are going to be lucky if you recoup 50%-75% of the cost. As a system, selling on something like Craigslist, I don't think you'll get much more than $1,200. Maybe, maybe $1,500, but even that's a push.

Very true. I was just wondering because I put this system up on Craigslist for $1000 which I figured was a fantastic price, but haven't had a single nibble. Is it too low? Are people thinking it's fake?

to be honest you might do better parting the system out.

1k is a pretty damn good price, but I think craigslist is a shitty place to sell on..and the exposure is probably minimal. I sell on Amazon and eBay. While the fees do add up, the seller protection and peace of mind are too much to pass up.

people never leave feedback ,its a pain in the ass. I've only had 2 feedbacks for 100% and ive done probably 20-30 sales. Most people typically don't care. Amazon's A-Z is pretty much in favor of the buyer so that's why for an item of that price I'd take precautions (signature confirmation, taking photos, etc)
