4770k over clock

Solution

prescient ,

Your reply to Godto is inappropriate. I'll just put it to you this way:

As Godto suggested, overclocking has a steep learning curve. Overclocking is a complex topic which should be approached patiently and methodically, but only after learning the terminology and understanding the basics.

These Forums are not classrooms where you can ask 50 questions, and expect people to make an effort to write 50 answers just for you, when you won't make an effort to read the guides. The information has already been written many times.

There are plenty of overclocking guides available at the big library in cyberspace called the Internet...

Yeah, is very hard to get it to 4.8Ghz without reaching 1.4vcore unless you get a golden chip. At that clock frequency and core voltages the processor would run really hot and even the best AIO water cooling couldnt keep good temps in stress tests.
For the 4770k, 4.7Ghz is the highest, safe to overclock frequncy you can get.

prescient,

The way your question is worded implies that you haven't looked into overclocking very much.

Respectfully, Google is the best place to start. There's plenty of overclocking guides to read to help get you up to speed, no pun intended.:D We strongly recommend that you do a little research first so you have your own knowledge base to work from.

There are plenty of overclocking guides available at the big library in cyberspace called the Internet. Just Google them, read and study the topic just like all the rest of us had to do to learn how to overclock. It's called research. No one here is responsible for doing your research for you. The only person responsible for that is you.

No one here is willing to spoon-feed you the information one question at a time, which always turns into an endless stream of questions. This sort of lax user approach is inconsiderate and disrespectful of other people's time. We've seen this before. This is why some clever people took the time and initiative to do their own research, and made an effort to write guides.

Come back when you're informed and can ask intelligent questions. We're always happy to help those who can show that they're willing to help themselves. Until then, you've got some work to do. If you can't or won't do the research to learn the basics, then you shouldn't try to overclock your computer, as you could damage it. Just take it to someone who knows how to overclock and have them do it for you.

I'm only been with forum for 10 days and I have more post than you.
second if you over 50 then call me a kid. I'm probably older than your dad.

I'm new to forum but i been OC since 1980. back then with 128MB hard drive and 8 meg of Ram was the biggest.
there was no internet, but can get help with user message board.

I'm just trying to help other because I learn a lot from even one in here, and just my way of paying back. I been there and I know how hard it is to get help and be help.

My advice is take little time, learn little bit first if you stuck then we can GUIDE you to the right direction.
We can't solve everything but with everyone experience in here will help you to get over the trouble you have.
