Will this motherboard be compatible with a one stick 8 gb of ram

I am looking to buy a new motherboard and the GA-H61M-S1 is probably my choice,
however i checked the memory compability on the site and it doesn't show a single 8 gb stick.
Will the motherboard still recognize an 8 gb stick? (8 gb sticks are cheaper where i live)

To be honest, QVLs are a joke, they only 'test' with whatever they have in the shop at the time - I've often found sticks listed that haven't even been made in years....there's way too many sticks/sets of DRAM available for them to even think about keeping up with

I know that but it costs a lot more here, will it still work?
