hi there im currently using gtx 570 and i do lots of 3d stuff like modeling and rendering as well and hardcore gaming too still gtx 570 fill my needs but its dieing now so i think time to buy a new gpu which can fulfill my all needs so my eyes on r9 280x amd gpu cause it have 3gb ram and a good
gaming wise too so should i buy the r9 280x or shell i go for another gpu like gtx 770 like something also i want a good gpu that handle mudbox and zbrush too my system have 12gb ram
and fx 8150 cpu with corsair gs 800 psu

Solution
I'd still recommend the 770 or 760. Stay away from the professional line of the cards. They're so much money for the same performance and don't have gaming optimized drivers. Nividia has better support for pretty much all the mainstream content creation applications. If you can get a 770 with 4gb of memory, I'd say that would be your best option and most flexible for 3d sculpting or modeling applications.
I'd really recommend the GTX lineup. The 760 and 770 are the sweet spots for price to performance at the high end.

The Nvidia cards are more useful for 3d programs I find. I'm an architect and I make all of my firms workstations, so I've played around a lot with different configurations etc. Nvidia simply has better developer relations with the major software companies. Some of the more mainstream programs (we use 3dsmax, maya, revit etc) have features such as viewport rendering/GPU realtime rendering that only work on the Nvidia hardware.

AMD is definitely more bang for your buck, and at home I'm usually an AMD guy, but for professional apps, Nvidia has much better relations and driver support/compatibility, especially with the autodesk apps.

but isnt that r9 280x bad cause it have more memory and mudbox eat gpu memory like dinner i usually use maya mudbox pipeline as well zbrush and nd0 2 and ddo2 plugins which also require more memory of gpu rather then cpu and ram so r9 280x is not sufficient for that kind of stuff

True, 3 gb of vram doesn't come in handy at times. But more often than not, it still loses to gtx 770 in most creative programs. In Maya, gtx 770 is better for sure. I can't help in the other programs since I have not used them myself.

So you can step up to an R9-290 with 4gb of memory:

For a bit more cost, you can step up to versions of pretty much any video card that has double the memory of it's factory spec.

For example: 6gb r9-280x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127786

GTX 770 4gb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125462

If you have a ridiculous budget, you can always spring for the professional lines from either manufacturer which have even more memory options, but at that point you are spending 10x the amount of the consumer card to achieve the same performance levels.

so should i buy a workstation gpu instead of consumer card or can i use both cards like gtx 570 and quadro cards
both at same machine for gaming as well 3d stuff too

i would stay far away from nvidia for anything needed for rendering as amd absolutely murders nvidia in this category…..

http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/AutoDesk-Maya-2013-GPU-Acceleration-166/

as you can clearly see, even a paltry amd hd7750 will beat a gtx680/770 and even the gk110 780's don't offer much more than the gk104s. even the gtx580/570 isn't far behind the gtx680/770. since fermi, nvidia geforce cards have not kept pace with in this segment.

the r9-280x is by far your best choice if you want very good 1080p gaming while also seeing a considerable increase in your rendering performance as well.

the r9-290 also is a very good option for the price if you can afford it, and is almost equal to nvidias quadro k4000 when it comes to rendering… another huge nvidia fail.

oh mannn Seriously 7750 kills gtx 680 in rendering i means is it true i cant believe this but still great help man i m thinking about r9 280x saphhire version is it good

That is not a rendering benchmark, that is viewport performance. The maya benchmark was using the opengl viewport. You can better performance from viewport 2.0 which uses directx. Geforce are intentionally gimped in opengl so you would get the workstation card but you don't need one in this case. Maya has no gpu accelerated renderer. Max has iray and quicksilver. Iray is nvidia tech but qs runs well on both with similar rendering times on competitive amd and nvida cards. You really can't compare any 3d suites vs others though. For your situation we should be talking about mudbox and zbrush. You won't have any issues with either amd or nvidia.

sapphire is amds premier radeon board partner and yes, if i had to choose i would would go with a sapphire amd card(if i couldn't get an msi lightning). though the msi gaming models are very good too, as are the asus dc2 or gigabyte windforce models.

but for me personally, i would only buy a graphics card by sapphire(amd), msi(amd/nvidia), or evga(nvidia).
