New motherboard, not booting

I just got a Z87 Extreme4 motherboard to replace my Z87 PRO3. I got windows working and got to desktop. I deleted my z87 pro3 icon on my desktop (not sure what it was for) and my computer shut down. I tried to turn it back on, but it powers on to a black screen, occasionally the Asrock logo comes up offering to go into uefi or other things, but then the computer shuts down no matter what. When I try to go into the boot menu, it sometimes works. Other times the computer shuts down. When I get to the boot menu, it's just a black screen. When I move my mouse around, square inch pieces of the background pop up. About twenty seconds later, the menu completely opens instead of just small bits. It works for about 3-8 seconds, that crashes. I managed to get to the windows login screen once after getting into the uefi setup menu and booting up, but just before the desktop loaded, the computer shut down. I have no idea what's going on, and I'm incredibly frustrated.

Solution

Perhaps your GPU failed after switching mobos. The problem with screens are usually with GPUs.

I have my monitor plugged into my gpu. When it was plugged into the motherboard my monitor just said no hdmi detected. I managed to get all the way to my desktop with it plugged back into the gpu, but my computer shut off again.

So your mobo's the problem. The monitor SHOULD detect the mobo. I'm afraid your mobo is dead or DOA. Try to RMA/return it and see if you could get a new one. I would consider this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128718

Hope I helped!
