I just built a new computer and it is having some problems. It seems to randomly shut off, and when I say shut off I mean as if it lost power and just died. No blue screen, error message or anything. After some research it seemed like it was due to an overheating cpu but I took off the heat sink cleaned it, reapplied thermal paste, and hooked it back up yesterday and it seemed to fix it but then it started doing it again today and after monitoring speed fan when it shut off I don't think it was the cpu. Fans seem to run fine although I need to add a couple more but the system temp always seemed to be low. Now I suspect that I got a bad power supply due to the fact that the switch on the back had already started to fail to work the first day I had it. Any advice what do you guys think? I am currently running the computer in safe mode and it seems to be going fine, but as I said it seems somewhat random so it may or may not be fine in safe mode. Thanks.
