Hello - I made this thread:
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2224937/troubles...

So, anyway...

I figured out my issue with that. I figured out how to get SATA Drivers on it by slipstreaming, but whenever I go to the install part of entering my product key it says it's invalid? I thought this is maybe because I basically made a copy of my Windows XP Installation disc and so the key only works on the actual one. If that's the case I can't figure out how to slipstream onto the actual XP Installation disc. Any help?

Your key does not depend on the disk being the original.

I've used THIS guide successfully many times in the past to slipstream SATA drivers into an XP install.

Well, like I said I was able to slipstream SATA Drivers onto a blank DVD and install XP from that, but when it got to the part where I entered my product key it said it was invalid...? How would that guide make a difference as to whether my key would work or not?

I've also called Microsoft Support and they essentially said they couldn't do anything about it. But, what I don't understand is that the product key worked just yesterday even. I haven't activated it online or anything, so I don't understand why it's not working.

Edit: Also forgot to mention it's actually a NEW copy of Windows XP Home Premium w/ SP2 bought from Amazon.

Since what you tried did not work, perhaps you should be open to going over your slipstream process. For example if you changed the disk name, your key will not work.

MS will not assist you. XP is no longer a supported product.

Heyo. I actually got XP to work. It was because I had slipstreamed SP3 in and my disc is SP2, so the key didn't work. Thanks!
